So, you have booked your holiday and now the question of what to pack looms over you. Who knows what amazing adventures lie ahead? How can you possibly know what to pack? Swimwear is of course the first thing that you consider when heading off into the sun. However, there are so many different styles available on the high street that it can be slightly overwhelming when you have to pick your favourites. The most important thing is that you feel good and confident whilst wearing it and that the suit/bikini fits well (I have spent many a holiday wrangling with bikini bottoms that have wandered off up my bottom or tube tops that fall down mid swim)! Equally important is that your swimsuit is fun and frivolous because you are on your holidays after all. Don’t be afraid to wear bright colours, prints, metallic, low cut tops or high leg bottoms. A holiday is a great chance to escape and try something new.

The key to packing for your holidays is to bring a selection of versatile outfits. A kaftan or sarong both work brilliantly to hide any bits that you don’t feel like showing off when strutting down the beach. However, they do not look quite so hot when it’s time to head off for a lunch or hit the shops. Instead why not try a play suit or dress that can easily slip on over your swimwear and transition seamlessly into a fabulous look for the rest of the day.

You have spent all day on the beach, you are glowing and now it’s time to get your glad rags on, hit the town and show off that gorgeous tan. When you’re on holiday use it as an excuse to dress in vibrant colours that you normally shy away from or a tropical print. Really have fun with your look. I tend to recommend maxi dresses for the evening but I also think a great jumpsuit or play suit has as much wow factor with a little more structure (hey, you have been dieting for the past two months you may as well show off your hard work)! Another great option is a loose trouser, cropped or palazzo but keep the top tighter. Or get those pins out in a pair of short shorts and strut your stuff.

Holidays and accessorising go together like sun burn and aloe vera! Statement jewellery is always popular whilst away but I prefer slightly more delicate gold or silver pieces that can transition from day to night beautifully and enhance your golden glow. Head wear is a must whilst away to protect your face and hair from the sun. There are many great sun hats with cute slogans emblazoned across them which will not only keep you U.V covered but also add a little character to your holiday vibes. Another important accessory is of course sunglasses, nobody wants to spend the fortnight squinting and of course when you are wearing them nobody can see you checking out the lifeguards! As for how to lug all of your holiday must haves around with you, a large tote is the key. Opt for a metallic or print bag to keep the look fun and stylish.

When it comes to footwear I think flat sandals are the way to go whilst on holiday. Heels take up too much necessary luggage space and walking on sand in heels is never a good look! If you do want a bit of height opt for a wedged heel which can be dressed up or down. Depending on your outfit go with either bold and bright or neutral and passive shades. Don’t shy away from trends such as fraying, pearls and leg ties. Remember, if you don’t ‘speaka da language’ let your feet do the talking!
